The Sleep Revolution by Arianna Huffington

I really enjoyed reading this book by Arianna Huffington. I have worked overnights for a very long time and my sleep patterns are all messed up. In this book she talks about the history of sleep and how to get better sleep. In the past sleep has been thought of as necessary and people have tried to sleep. As the industrial revolution took over, people have tried to cut sleep out more and more. I was surprised to find out that a lack of sleep can cause a person to be as impaired as if they were drunk. I had realized that sleep was important for health and weight loss but did not realize how important it truly was. Now that I am trying to lose weight it is becoming more apparent how important sleep is. I liked the chapters on the hotels and how they are trying to help people get better sleep. I loved the appendixes with information on more hotels and mattresses. She also gives a lot of tips on how to get to sleep so that you will not have to use sleeping pills. I found this to be a very good book. I received this book free from Blogging for Books in exchange for a review of the book. It was a very interesting read.

Inside the Criminal Mind

I found this to be a very book. IT helped me understand the criminal mind. I work with juveniles in the criminal system and this helped me understand where they are at and how they think. This book was interesting and had a lot of important information for anyone who wants to know more about how criminals think. It allows you to see more of what makes a criminal tick and how to work with them. It is very interesting and informative.

The Life-Changig Magic of Tidying Up

I enjoyed this book. It explains how to tidy your home all at once so that you can keep it tidied and not have to work to redo it all the time. I liked the idea of only keeping the things that give you joy. That will cut down on the junk that I would have in my home. She also gave a way to go through things starting with clothes, books, miscellaneous and keepsakes so that you can have your decision making down before you get to the keepsakes. I will try this method very soon to get my hose cleaned out more.

Unreal candy is a very interesting concept. They have half the sugar of the regular candy bars. The Dark Monk by Oliver Potzsch

This is another wonderful book. I really enjoyed it. It was a fast paced book with a great plot. I found that it pulled me in and made me a part of the story. It made me feel like the story could be a part of me if I let it. In the Dark Monk a priest is killed because he found a Templar’s grave and riddles. This leads to the doctor going to see the priest and calling for the hangman. The hangman finds that the priest has been murdered. The rest of the book goes into how the doctor solves the Templar’s riddles, while the hangman looks for the robbers who have been ambushing and killing the merchants of the area. To say much more would give away too much of the end of the book. It was such a good book I would love to see more from this author. I have enjoyed his work and would love to see more. The Hangman's daughter by Oliver Potzsch

I loved this book. I found it to be very interesting. It pulled me in and held my attention. I love a book with a good plot and fast moving story. This book had it all. The Hangman’s Daughter was a great book because it had a great plot. There are children being murdered. Each child who dies had a mark on their back. The midwife of the town is blamed for the deaths of the children. She is being called a witch and held in prison. The local doctor, the hangman and some of the elders of the town are trying to find the truth behind the deaths. The hangman’s daughter falls in love with the doctor. To tell more would give away the end of the book and I would hate to do that. I found that characters to be real. They made me feel like a part of the story. This made the book even more fun to read.
