The Man of Numbers: fibonacci's Arithmetic revolution by Keith Devlin

This is an interesting biography on the life of Leonardo Fibonacci. He was an Italian who lived in the twelfth century. This is an interesting book. It was easy to read and fascinating.

The book was about the life and times of Leonardo Fibonacci. He was a famous mathematician in the twelfth century. He lived in Pisa. He is the one that the Fibonacci number sequence is named after. His life was fascinating.

I got this book as a goodreads giveaway and really enjoyed it. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a biography on mathematicians

Hex: A Witch and Angel Tale by Ramona Wray

This was a great book. It was very easy to read and interesting. I loved the plot and would love to see more like this.

The book start with a girl in high school. She gets involved with a new boy and then there is another new guy in the picture. These two boys start to fight over her. After some time she finds out that she is under a curse and is a powerful witch. She has to save her friend but that will end in her death and the continuation of the curse. The end of the book is very good but I cannot tell you what happens in the end.

I won this book in a goodreads giveaway. I found it to be very good and enjoyable. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance and the paranormal.

Call Me When You Land by Michael Shiavone

This was a very good book. I loved the plot. It was very moving. This book was very interesting and easy to read. I wish everyone could read this.

This book was about the relationship between a mother and her son. At the beginning of the book the boy’s father dies and leaves him a motorcycle. The relationship between the mother and son is not good from the beginning. The son needs a male presence in his life for stability and there is none there. The boy decides to leave home for a while. There is a lot more to the story but it would spoil the book for everyone.

I won this book as a goodreads giveaway and enjoyed it immensely. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good book.

The Love Dare Day by Day: A Year of Devotions for Couples

I found this to be a very good devotional. It had the grounds to be able to help me with my relationship both with God and my husband. It was interesting and it gave me a lot to think about.

This devotional helps people with all of their relationships not just their marriage. It is based off of the movie Fireproof. It gives devotionals for each day of the year and these devotionals work on the relationships of marriage and God. It does give some information about other relationships with people around you as well. It also tells you about how God expects His people to live.

This devotional was very good. I bought this one for myself. I found it to be very interesting and relevant to my life.

Still Life with Brass Pole by Craig Machen

This was a funny and interesting book. It is supposed to be his autobiography. I found it to be very easy to read and some parts of it were totally hilarious. I enjoyed the book. I found it to be something that I would read again.

It starts with his childhood and the first time he goes into a strip club as a teen. It goes on until he is an adult and having children of his own. He finishes high school and goes to college. He pays his way through college working as a bouncer in strip clubs. This book tells a lot more about his life than I am here. It is a very interesting book because most people do not have a life like this.

I won this book in a goodreads giveaway and found it to be engaging and interesting. I would recommend it to anyone.

Hail Mary By C.C. Galloway

This is an interesting book. It is a love story but has many different elements that make it even more interesting. It was easy to read and kept me interested

The book was about a school teacher and a football player who had known each other in college. She was his tutor in college. They had lost touch after school and now she is teaching in the same city where he plays. They begin to date each other and he does everything to push her away so that she will not find out his secrets. This makes for a very good story.

I won this as a goodreads giveaway and I enjoyed it immensely. I found it to be a very good book and would recommend it to others.

The money also promotes sustainable farming practices. The working conditions are better for the workers and we get high-quality coffee.

The Mistress's Revenge by Tamar Cohen

This was a very interesting book. I loved it. I found it to be very funny in sections even while I wished that the main character would become more stable. I did start to feel sorry for her after a while because she was so unhappy and seemed so unable to do anything about it.
The story is about a woman who is having an affair with a television personality. He breaks off the affair and she is unable to cope with this. She keeps trying to get into his family by talking to his wife and his daughter. She is doing things that become more and more disturbing throughout the book. It was very entertaining to see how far she would go and then how far he would go to try to get her to stop.
I found this book to be different from most that I have read but that made it more interesting because I never knew where it would go next. I won this book in a goodreads.com giveaway and would recommend it to anyone.

Healer by Carol Cassella

This is a great book. I found it to be easy to read and very entertaining. I think that it would be hard to change your life like this family was forced to. It was a very emotional book for me. The characters really came to life and made me feel what was going on in the book. I felt that the author did a wonderful job of pulling me in and keeping me hooked.
The story is of a family who has lost everything in a gamble made by the husband without telling his wife. He put all of their money into a drug he was developing and lost it all. They have moved to a rural community and the daughter really hates it at first. She wants to move back to the big city. The mother has to get a job so she goes to work as a doctor in a small clinic. By the end of the book there are many changes that develop. These changes make the book very interesting.
This is a great book that I would recommend to everyone because it is very interesting and yet very entertaining. I got this book from a goodreads.com giveaway.

The Domino Project from Seth Godin book of the month End Malaria

Seth Godin has done it again! The Domino Project is changing books forever by publishing a new book every month — and it's free for your honest feedback.

End Malaria is more than a book, it’s a great cause.

At least $20 from each copy sold by us goes directly to Malaria No More to send a mosquito net to a family in need and to support life-saving work in the fight against malaria. Malaria No More, an international advocacy organization, is on a mission to end malaria related deaths by 2015.

In addition to saving lives, buying this book means you can enjoy essays by 62 of American’s favorite business authors, including Tom Peters, Nicholas Carr, Pam Slim, and Sir Ken Robinson. Organized into three main sections—Focus, Courage, Resilience—and eight subsections—Tap Your Strengths, Create Freedom, Love & Be Kind, Disrupt Normal, Take Small Steps, Embrace Systems, Get Physical, Collaborate—all essays in End Malaria share a desire to inspire readers to look within themselves for solutions to their everyday dilemmas and for motivation to realize their desires.

Editor Michael Bungay Stanier envisioned End Malaria as a book that would marry the best writers of the business world to a deserving cause. Michael assembled and edited this collection with a goal to leverage that breadth of expertise these writers represent for an issue of global importance.

At its core, End Malaria is about doing great work including the hard work to save lives. All of the writers in this collection and all of the partners involved have waived fees in order to raise the maximum amount of money.

You can get this as a book or in a Kindle edition.

Steelhands by Jaida Jones

This was a very good book. It had a slow start for me but it was still a very good book. I loved the book. It had a good plot and a wonderful story. I think that it was one of the better books of this type that I have read.
The story is about dragons and the people who rode them. Then the new set of dragons and the people who are claimed by them. To say much more would give away the book and that is never good. IT has a good plot. It kept me interested.
This book was able to entertain me and keep me interested. I love the concept of the book as well. Fantasy books are always fun to read for me. I wish the beginning of the book would have been a little faster paced than it was but other than that, this was a very well written book.
I won this book in a goodreads giveaway and enjoyed it immensely. I would recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy and Science fiction books.

Gandhi the Man: How One Man Changed Himself to Change the World by Eknath Easwaran

This is a biography of Gandhi. It explains his philosophy of nonviolence and how he used it in South Africa and then in India to help the Indian people in both places win their freedom. I found the book to be very interesting. I had heard of Gandhi in the past but this book made him into a real person and showed me how one person can make a difference.
It also explains the use of nonviolence as used by Gandhi in India and how it can be used today. It can be used in our families or in our workplaces. I found the concepts used in this book to be very interesting. I think that violence is overused and does not really come up with a solution to the problem. Violence just kills the problem.
Gandhi seemed to understand what violence does to people and tried to teach people how to handle problems without violence. He spent a lot of time in jail and his life ended in a tragic way. He was assassinated by a man who was angry because Gandhi was succeeding. This book is a wonderful book for learning more about Gandhi and also learning more about his principles of nonviolence.

Look at Flower: A Novel by Robert Dunn

This was an interesting book. It is a novel set in the 60’s. It tells the story of a teenager who lived in the 60’s and her life during that time. It was interesting how many different things this young woman went through. I found the book to be funny as well as sad. It held my attention and gave me a feel for the 60’s.
I feel that Flower had an interesting life. I liked it when she was hopping trains and hitchhiking. These seemed to be very realistic things that someone could have done then. It can still be done today but not as easily. She met many different people who helped her in different ways. I liked the elderly woman who took her in.
This book shows that people can learn to like each other no matter how different their backgrounds. When Flower met the elderly woman, they seemed to hit it off. At the end of the book they are almost like best friends. This is a good book that was well written. It had enough information in it to make me want to read more. I finished this book in less than a day. It is a very good book.

Z 2 A 2012 Art Calendar by Eva Dillner

This is a beautiful calendar that has 12 different art works, one for each month. The art is beautiful and abstract. It has many different ways to look at it and see different things. I enjoyed all of the art work shown in the calendar and will be looking into more of her work.
At the beginning of the calendar, Eva has two pages that explain how she started in art and healing. It also has her website and websites where you can get more of her work. This is a very interesting calendar. I had never seen one like this before. I think that I will keep this one for next year. I have not seen a calendar with the moon phases and holidays on it like this one has.
I found the art to be beautiful and I think that I will find different meaning in it than someone else might. I think that this art is interesting. I appreciate the work that was done to create the art in this calendar. I am not an artist, but I can appreciate good art when I see it.

The Filter Bubble by Eli Pariser

I enjoyed this book because it made me think about the internet in ways that I had not thought about it before. I found it to be thought provoking and easy to read. It allowed me to see things about Google and Facebook that made me think. I will not quit using these sites but I will think about them in a different way now.
This book is about the way that Facebook and Google as well as other websites are using our personal information to personalize our internet experience. It talks about how different people see different things when they type in the same search terms into Google. This is because each person gets a personalized search.
I think that personalization can be good but too much personalization of the internet could be bad. It could cause us to not know as much about the world due to the way the searches and sites come up for us. This book talks about how this affects the common person.
I think this book is an important read for anyone who uses sites on the internet and especially Google, Facebook and sites where you purchase anything. This book is very good and explains a lot that is going on now and that could be going on in the future. It is well worth reading.

Rise and Shine: Awaken Your Energy Body with Taoism Alchemy and Qi Gong by Pedram Shojai

This book was very good. It teaches the principles of Taoism and the exercises of Qi Gong. I found the book to be very interesting. It helped me think in terms of more than just myself. There are principles that help you let go of the past and grow stronger in your own power.
I found the exercises that were shown in the book to be very good for gaining some ability to breathe better. It also helped me see that I can do more once my body is in better shape. I loved the exercises.
This book was very good for teaching the ideas and principles of Taoism. It helped me see something besides the religion that I have lived with for many years. I think that it could help other people as well. We all need to think about how our lives affect other people.
This was a very good book. I loved it and found that the principles can help people grow and develop in the ways of Taoism. I want everyone to be able to read this book. I also think that it is important for people to see the website that is associated with the book.

The Bashful Vampire Murder and Comic Book Murders by Bob Frey

This book was interesting. I really enjoyed the book. When I started reading it I was wondering what kind of story it would be. The stories were murder mysteries, but they were also very funny.
The main detective is gay so that put a different spin on the book. There was not much about that aspect in either story but I did find it to be any interesting aspect of the stories. It made me think of that detective and I found him to be a hard character.
The Bashful vampire murder was interesting since the trial was for murder but the defense used a vampire defense to get the guy off. The main detective was comical in this story because he had some good quips. He fought the vampire defense. At the end of the story the main detective was scared by his friends who came at him in the dark. He thought they were vampires.
The Comic book murders were murders done by people dressed up as comic book characters. This was very funny because the police were having trouble finding out who had done the murders.
In both stories the gay detective had the fact that he was gay brought up as a reason for the murderer to get off. I found that to be an interesting reason for the bad guys to be freed
These were great stories that had murder, mystery, and comedy combined. What more can you ask for in a book. This was a wonderful book that I would recommend to anyone.

The Mullah’s Storm by Thomas W. Young

This is not a book that I would normally read. I did think that it looked good. I loved this book. It was able to keep me reading and wanting more. This author worked very hard to tell a good story. The best part is that it could also have been a true story.
The descriptions of the terrain in Afghanistan were amazing. I could imagine the mountains and the ruggedness just by the way it was described. I found the descriptions in the book to be very lifelike.
The story was great. I thought that the way it was written showed that this author had put a lot of thought into how he wanted the book to flow. The descriptions of the torture endured by the characters were amazing as well. The idea of having all of the fingernails removed was interesting and made me almost feel the pain myself. That would hurt horribly.
Seeing a crew member who had been decapitated by the terrorists would be a horrible sight. I found that this made me feel bad for the main character. He had been through a lot by that point of the story and to see that would have hurt him again. He had not wanted to leave the crew but was given orders to do so.
This book was well written and able to hold my attention. I loved the book and would recommend it to anyone.

Paranoid Pip by Yvonne Sherwell

This was an interesting book. It was written from the perspective of the mother in the story, but it is about the dog that they acquire. The dog is Pip. He is a wire-haired terrier. This dog is constantly getting in trouble. The first part is about how the mother relates to the dog. He ends up saving her from being raped.
The second part is about the relationship with the children. The kids are from New York and visit their grandmother in a small town. Drugs start coming into the community and the kids are blamed. Pip figures out what is really going on.
The third part is the father’s relationship with the dog. The father seems to hate the dog. By the end of this part the dog has done something major for the father.
The last part is the dog’s relationship with everyone. He becomes a famous singing dog who is kidnapped. The end of the book is very funny.
This book has its serious moments but for the most part it had me laughing and really interested. I enjoyed this book. It was very interesting to read what this family went through.

This book was very interesting. It is a mystery. As it starts Maggie has just come back from a case where the bad guy was shot with her close by so she is pulling stuff off of herself. When she gets done showering, she is called by a friend wanting her to go to Florida to look at the parts to her next case. Maggie is a profiler.
When they get to Florida, a major hurricane is getting ready to hit. Maggie goes to the sheriff’s office to see the cooler where the body parts were found. The body parts are from at least two different bodies. They try to find out if the bodies are murders or if they are something else. The Coast Guard woman who found the parts works with Maggie. Her father ends up being kidnapped by the guy who is taking body parts.
I love the way the story ends but will not give that away. It is a very good book. I loved it and would read more from this author anytime. She has a way of writing that pulls you in and keeps you hooked. She made the book feel like you were right there.

3 Off the Tee: Targeting Success by Lorii Myers

This book uses the game of golf to help explain business and how to succeed in business. The first nine holes are used to teach what you need to do in yourself to be ready for success in the workplace. At the turn asks you to figure out what you want in business and life. Without a goal you have nothing to work for. The back nine holes teach you how to put what you have learned in the front nine to work. They talk about risk and reward.
This book gave me the way to start thinking about how to move ahead or move on from where I am now. It also gave me the tools I need to begin my journey. I found the risk and reward part to be very important to me. I found the whole book to be interesting. It even had a glossary at the end of the book with golf terms for people who have not played and did not know the terms. This book was great for me and my personal development.

Dearly, Departed by Lia Habel

This is a young adult book. It is a zombie story but it is written in a way that makes it very interesting. You read the book from back to front and right to left pages wise. I enjoyed the book. I find myself waiting for the next book so I can continue the story.
This story is written in the future. The earth has been destroyed by natural disasters and wars so everyone is living around the equator. There are things that are very old fashioned but still futuristic about the book.
Nora is the main character. She is kidnapped from her home by Bram who is a zombie. In the book there are the zombies who wake up still remembering themselves and are fully aware and the zombies who wake up with no knowledge of anything except to eat humans. Bram is a conscious zombie. Nora has thought that her father is dead for one year.
After she is kidnapped Nora finds out that her father is a zombie. She finds out that her home has been overrun by the bad zombies. Her friend Pam still lives in the city and is trying to survive the zombie attacks.
This is a very interesting book. I really enjoyed reading it.

Tiny Sunbirds, Far Away by Christie Watson

This was a very interesting story of a family in Nigeria and how they live. It started out with the mother finding out that the father was sleeping with another woman. When the father moves out the mother, daughter and son have to move with the mother’s family. The grandfather is a Muslim who wants to be a petroleum engineer. The Family is African American.
During the story the mother starts dating a white man. The son loses his ability to go to school and gets shot by local boys whom he later joins. The daughter starts her education with her grandmother to be a midwife (birth attendant). It is an interesting story that causes you to think a little bit about how the world is today and how we treat the people in other countries. The kinds of things that are told about in this story still happen.
It tells of the way the petroleum companies hired police to go in and kill whole villages. One boy in the story had lost his whole village and was living with the grandfather who was watching over him. I found the story to be very interesting and thought provoking.

The Year We Left Home by Jean Thompson

This was an interesting novel. I found it captivating. Living in the Midwest I know the weather and the way of life here. People are taught to live in certain ways and when that is challenged people tend to think that the rules have been broken and that someone needs to change. Chip would have been a severe rule breaker without trying to. He was a Vietnam vet and had trauma from it. This made it hard for him to be able to function normally.
Bringing the religious aspect into the story made it interesting. The older generations seem very religious and as the younger generations come up, they are less and less religious. They tend to stop going to church or really hate going to church. I also found the idea of the farm crisis and how it affected the Midwest to be interesting. I am too young to remember a lot of this. I can see though how having a family member who works for the bank that takes you farm from you would be very difficult. You can’t do anything to help them, but they expect you to do something.
This is a very good coming of age story about the life of a family in the Midwest. It does tell us more about how the families in the Midwest live. It touches on divorce, religion, and many other aspects of a family including death and injury. This is a great book.

Cacoethes by M. Scott Craig

This book was very interesting. It dealt with short stories and poems about passion and disappointment. There were some stories that I really got into while others I really didn’t like as much. None of them were awful, they were just not my favorite.
I found the writing style to be interesting. He is a good writer who can pull you in to the stories. He is able to make you really feel with the characters in some of his stories.
I found the fact that he would write a poem and then continue it further on in the writing to be very interesting. It made me wait to read more. One of my favorite poems was done that way. It was about a chair and seasons. It was a wonderful poem.
I loved this book. I love the way it is written and the way it was presented.

Misery Bay by Steve Hamilton

This book was great. It held my attention and allowed me to be moved into the story. It also lead me to make my own conclusions to see if I was right. I ended up being wrong but that made it more interesting. Adding the final character in the final part was very good.
This book is a murder mystery. It goes through figuring out where all of the main characters knew each other or had worked together. It was well done and only came together at the very end of the book. The deaths and the way the killer put together the movie was very interesting. I enjoyed that the most.
I found the descriptions of the deaths to be very interesting and detailed when they were watching the killers movie. The shootings were the ones that got me the most. After my own shooting, these were very engaging.
I loved this book. It was well written and pulled me into the story quickly. It was also a quick read. I found all parts of this book to be very good.

Tales of a Baseball Dream by Jerry Pearlman

I enjoyed this book. It was very inspirational for me. I loved the way that baseball and baseball superstitions were used to make points in this book. I also found the death of the father to be a very important aspect of this book. I know that death of a close family member can cause a lot of pain and problems for teens and also younger children.

I will be keeping this book for my son. He is 5 years old now and I think this book may help him as he gets older. I know that there is a lot of stuff that he will need to work through as he gets older including adapting to his ADHD. Since this book was an inspiration to me, I think that it could also help him.

This was a very interesting and easy to read book.(

Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back by Todd Burpo, Lynn Vincent (Contributor), Sonja Burpo, Colton Burpo

I found this book to very inspirational. It tells the story of a young boy who has a ruptured appendix and nearly dies. He later tells his family of his trip to heaven. He describes what Jesus looks like and what heaven looks like. He tells his parents about relatives that he had never met in life.

there were times when I cried while reading this book. I also found many parts funny. I think that this book would be good for anyone to read.

Trouble Down South and Other Stories by Katrina Parker Williams

This book was very easy to read. It was written very well and drew me in to the stories. I found it to be a kind of history of African Americans from slave days to current. It was kind of sad how much oppression there still is for the African American community in these stories.
There are 12 stories in this book. Some of them seem to follow off the others and others do not. I enjoyed all of the stories but Slave Auction, The House Down the Dirt Lane and Aunt Luella’s House had the most impact on me.
Slave auction is about a slave mother and her 4 year old son who are sold at auction. They are sold to different owners and separated. It was a well written story that was hard to read for me. When I was hurt, my son was two and while I was in the hospital for a month and a half he was only allowed to see me a few times. That was very hard.
The House Down the Dirt lane is about a soldier who had PTSD after coming back from war. The bosses at my work are still trying to say that I have PTSD after my accident. It is very frustrating.
Aunt Luella’s House was very interesting to me. I know about the violence African Americans face but the death in this story seemed to be for nothing. That bothered me.
I am not African American but I found this book to be very good and it helped me understand more how they might feel. A very good book.

Ladder to the Moon by Maya Soetoro-Ng

This is a very interesting children’s book about a little girl and her grandmother. The grandmother has died and gone on. She comes and takes the girl to the moon on a ladder. There the girl is taught how to love other people so that the people can learn to love and help others. She is taught empathy for others.

It is a tale by President Obama’s sister. It has a lot of elements that probably come from African American traditions. I loved the book and so did my son. I usually put books on the bookswap but my son is not willing to part with it. This one we will have to keep.

It is a very good book and it can teach young children about empathy and caring for others. I would recommend this book to anyone with children. It is well written and teaches a lesson that all children need to learn.

An Unquenchable Thirst by Mary Johnson

This book was interesting because it gave me an idea what the life of a nun in the Missionaries of Charity was like. I had never thought about what it would be like to be a nun but to be a nun in the group started by Mother Teresa would be even more difficult because they are to have nothing. They are to live in poverty like the people that they are helping. I can understand why Mother Teresa would want this, but it would be very difficult to live it.

I do not know much about the Catholic religion so this book was a little harder to read because of all the things I didn’t know. I did not understand the Hail Mary and penances as well as I would have liked. I found it interesting that the nuns seemed to have problems with their vows often.

This book gave me a look at the life of a nun, but it also gave me a better perspective on Mother Teresa. She was a good woman and did a lot of good, but it is also good to know that she struggled with her relationship with God. She also had struggles in her life that without a book like this we might never know about.

Thank you for a wonderful book that made me think about my own walk with God, and what that means to me.

Hurricane by Jewell Parker Rhodes

I enjoyed this book. It drew me in and held my attention. It was very exciting with many twists and turns. I could see how some of the book would turn out since it had Hurricane Katrina as a storyline. There was a lot about the story that surprised me though.

It had a lot of the voodoo religion to it which I found interesting. I also found the idea of nature cleaning itself with the hurricane to be interesting. I felt that nature needed to clean itself after the pollution that was shown to exist in this book. Pollution does hurt people and the land that is polluted.

I found the mystery part of the book to be very interesting. How she finds out who is trying to kill her is interesting as well. I really enjoyed the book and felt that it was worth reading again.

These are my results of course, but it can work for you as well.

Cut Through the Bone by Ethel Rohan

This is a book of short stories. All of the stories were interesting. They could be true stories. They are well written and a quick read. Of the thirty stories in the book I found four to be very interesting. These stories touched me more than the others. All the stories were good but these four were my very favorites. My favorites are: Lifelike; Gone; Under the Scalpel; and Vitals.
Lifelike was just a very interesting story. Now that I have seen some of those dolls that really do look like babies, I can see how a person could do this. I just found it very interesting and sad.
Gone gave me a feeling that was similar to how I felt right after my accident. I didn’t lose my breasts but I feel that I lost a lot due to nerve damage in my face. I thought that this story had a real meaning for me and I really enjoyed it.
Under the Scalpel has a lot of the same feel as Gone for me. I wanted to hide right after my accident. I did not want anyone to see me. I was afraid of what others would think. Now that I am almost four years out from my accident, I don’t care but at that time I was scared and didn’t want anyone to see me.
Vitals is very interesting. I sometimes feel like the woman in the story. I love her words at the very end. “I’m here, though?” she whispered. “Tell me I’m here.” I loved this. I do have that feeling sometimes. I just want to know that I am still here.
This is a great book and I really enjoyed it.

Ears to Hear by Anne Correll

This story for children is very good. It brings God into the life of all children by showing how God helped the children in the story. I found this story to touch my own heart as I thought about the way that I think about God. God is important to me but I have never thought about how He speaks to His people today.
This story told of a family where the mother dies giving birth to the youngest. The father then moves around to find odd jobs to keep them together. They are living in the car. The father teaches the boys their schoolwork and he also reads to them from the Bible every day. He teaches the boys that they can turn to God whenever they need help.
They are traveling in the mountains when the car breaks down and the father goes for help. The rest of the story shows how God works with the family but it is something that must be read. This really touched me.

Death pact by William Manchee

This was an interesting story. I have never read anything like it before. It was hard for me to see where the story was going and what would happen next. The plot moved quickly and was interesting.
It started with the lawyer being asked to be the daughter’s fiduciary if anything happened to the father. The father then dies while skiing. The daughter then seduces the lawyer and once she becomes emancipated they are married.
The aunt is angry about this because she thinks that there is a large inheritance that she wants. The inheritance never happens, but the lawyer invests what they have left. The aunt is murdered and the niece is charged.
The death pact comes in if she loses the trial and has to go to jail. If she would lose and be going to jail she wants them to die together by taking cyanide. It is a very interesting story to say the least. I will not give away the ending but it is good.

The Regiftable Gift Book by Larry Zafran

This is a very cool concept. It is a book that has an explanation on the first page. The idea of the book is to give it to someone when you do not know what else to give them. Then they pass it on to the next person. This can be done 15 times before the book is over.
When the last person gets the book there is a page in the very back that should have been filled out by the first person who gifted the book. The last person should email the first person so that they know where the book ended up. I love this concept and think that it would be great for Secret Santas or other gag gifts.
I plan on giving it to my sister for her bridal shower or baby shower and see where it goes from there. This could be a very fun thing to do.

The Briton and the Dane:Birthright by Mary Ann Bernal

This book was very interesting. It took historical events and people and made a fiction story about them. This was about King Alfred and King Guthrum in the Ninth Century. It tells of how Christianity was becoming popular in Great Britain and how the other gods who were in the country were losing their power over the people.
King Guthrum has to fight his illegitimate child for his throne and the book is about the conspiracies that are going on in the illegitimate son’s camp before the ballets begin. There is a lot of intrigue to the story. There are kidnappings, murders of whole villages, and more in the book.
They use the monasteries that have been left by the Romans as places of refuge for the women and children who are losing their homes and lands or will be killed by the opposing army. Some women are taken there and help until the battles are over so that they will be protected and not do anything that could get their husbands and family killed.
The way this book was written made me want to read more. Even though it was written with words that would have been period I could understand it and the few words I did not know were in the glossary. I really enjoyed this book and will read any more that are written.

Lawful Orders by Jonathan P. Tomes

This is a military book. It starts with a soldier disobeying an order from a superior officer in Vietnam. He is injured the next day and nothing is done about the disobedience until both of the men are in the same class at Leavenworth. They are both Majors by this time but the one who was disobeyed wants the other to be charged.
Armstrong charges Thomas with mutiny since disobeying a lawful order was beyond the statute of limitations. The book then goes through the whole trial. Thomas is charged with mutiny but the charge is unable to be upheld since all aspects of the charge are not there. The judge states that Thomas is not guilty of the mutiny charge but can still be tried on the disobeying a lawful order charge. Thomas wants to continue the trial on the lawful order charge even though he could get out of it by invoking the statute of limitations.
I found the way the book ended to be very good. It drew me in because I just had to know what happened to Major Thomas. I was relieved when I saw how the book ended. It was an emotional ride while the trial was going on and then with the way the book ended it was very fitting.
This was a wonderful book that everyone could benefit from reading. It shows the way that the military deals with its own people and what happens when they disobey an order.

Heaven's Shadow by David Goyer

This book is a great science fiction piece. It left me wanting more and wondering what would happen next. I loved the way the story pulled me in and made me want to read more. I found the plot to be interesting.
The story starts with a near earth object being found and shuttles launched to see what it was and where it was from. The near space object is really a space ship of some sort itself. NASA sets off a nuclear bomb on the near space object.
While this is happening the near space object is launching small orbs at earth that hit both NASA and the Indian space command centers. After the attacks the orbs grow and start to leave taking people from earth with it.
The space ship is also able to regenerate dead loved ones from the astronauts lives and they are told that they are to help the aliens in the future.
I found the book to be very interesting and can’t wait for the next one in the series. I love books like these and can’t wait to find out what happens to the main characters.

Summer Rental by Mary Kay Andrews

This book was something that I would not normally read, but it looked interesting.  I loved this book.  It was very well written.  It pulled me in and held my attention.  I loved all of the characters and I loved the interplay between the characters.

The fact that Dorie did not want to tell her friends about her gay husband and her baby was interesting.  She was worried about what they would think even though she knew they would support her.

The character of Maryn was very interesting because at first she did not seem to fit with the others and then she started to come out and tell the other what was going on.

I loved the character of Ellis.  She was so organized that I did not think that she would change.  I loved her romance with Ty.  I think that the romance was the best part of the book.  I loved how all the friends worked to get them together at the end.

I also thought the end was very good.  I did not see the end of the book happening as it did.  The fact that the friends ended up saving Maryn in more ways than one was wonderful.  Knowing that you have friends can be more important than anything else in the world.
